The Science and Technology Bureau of Xi'an (the Foreign Expert Affairs Bureau of Xi'an) recently announced the recognition of the fifth batch of Xi'an International Science and Technology Cooperation Bases. Among them, the "Xi'an International Science and Technology Cooperation Base for Complex Data Modeling and Intelligent Computing," led by the School of Mathematics and Statistics, has been officially approved.
The Academic Committee of this Base is chaired by Professor Nie Yufeng, while the Management Committee is headed by Professor Du Lin. Associate Professor Xiao Manyu serves as the Director of the Base Office.
The Base will leverage its established international cooperation network and its core interdisciplinary research team to address key national scientific and technological priorities. It will focus on crucial tasks such as data dimensionality reduction, feature extraction, and pattern recognition.
Looking ahead, the School will strengthen oversight and management of the Base, align with trends in innovative development, enhance talent cultivation and team building, and optimize operational processes. The School will also broaden international scientific and technological exchange channels, attract high-level talent and advanced technologies, and promote open sharing of scientific resources.
